BenQ have consistently produced high quality monitors and this time around they have come with a unique bezel-free monitor which also boasts impressive specs. The most important being the bezel (the black frame surrounding the screen) free monitor design that makes it a breeze to watch dual monitors without any major frame disturbances coming in-between.
Meet the stunning beauty
The monitor gives stunning color reproduction with decent balance of colors. And it comes with a matte screen that provides for glare-free rendition of pictures.
As far as connectivity ports and HDMI is concerned – This monitor comes with a VGA port (for PC) and two HDMI ports (One is a normal HDMI while the other is for mobile connectivity which can be also used as a normal HDMI port).
It has audio-microphone port and most importantly this is also compatible with most of the cable TV operators through the HDMI cable.
Another impressive factor that I found with this monitor is its MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) connectivity that allows to connect any smart device to display streaming media from any MHL-enabled smart device.
With MHL you can watch all your media stored in a phone or a tablet and easily display videos, games, photos, etc on a big screen.
It comes with a cinema mode which automatically fine tunes videos to provide a cinematic experience. Just remember to add a good home theater to round up the experience.
There are myriads of other enticing features such as:
- Super Resolution effect,
- smart focus,
- flicker-free back light for visual appeal and
- low blue-light exposure mode.
There are four preset modes for viewing based on the content that is being viewed such as – Multimedia mode, web surfing mode, office mode, and reading mode. All these modes come with pre-defined settings that have been fine tuned to reduce eye strain.
BenQ’s Low Blue Light mode protects your eyes by reducing the blue light from the monitor. Blue light is known to cause health issues. Among the visible light from sun rays, fluorescent lights, monitors, and cellphones, blue light has the highest energy as it is very similar to ultraviolet light, and is widely accepted that blue light damages the retina. This blue light causes macular degeneration or sleeping disorders.
However, I found that some of these settings could be tweaked further for comfort. Maybe it was just me, your mileage may vary.
